Great... Elections

Looks like Canada is going to have yes, another election. barring any unforeseen circumstances it is quite possible that Canada will vote to have another federal election. personally I believe it will only serve to put another Harper administration in for another few years while costing multi-billion dollars. Not many people like Harper, but more people like him than any other single party out there, which in reality is sad. If you are going to vote in this I advise you to vote for a party that actually has a chance of winning as to not dilute the voting power of the country. and hey, maybe a new government will be put in place, who knows. that means no voting for the Quebecois. they're not going to separate, deal with it

The Real Africa

Now i know everyone has heard a lot about Africa and seen movies chronicling what life is like in the Savannah. But I bring to you... the real Savannah. Don't let the zebras striking appearance fool you, it is a cold blooded carnivore and top of the food chain in Africa. all the photographers and journalists that have seen one with their bear eyes have been killed by these wild beasts. Until now. without further adu, i ring you a photograph taken only hours ago, of the real Africa.

The Last Month in Review

Since i left a lot has been happening in the world. especially in North Africa and the Middle East. as everyone remembers the Egyptian revolution was successful, and as many prominent politicians described, this has caused unrest in the Arab world. how much unrest exactly? well basically every Arab country (excluding Iraq) has had some form of popular dissent. Libya is in full out Civil War with the government.

A wave of popular support not only for human rights, but for democracy. this is no ordinary Arab revolutionary movement, from all sides it seems completely secular. not only secular, but... peaceful in nature

Of course Libya's situation has arisen to the status of Civil War, not because of the protester's accord, but because the government refused to step down and openly fired on peaceful protesters. I urge everyone to vote for the passing of a no-fly zone over Libya. Libyan planes are actively bombing pro-Democracy protesters. http://www.avaaz.org/en/libya_no_fly_zone_1/?cl=974484304&v=8575. It's the least any of us can do.

Major protests in Iraq seem a dim light of hope for a peaceful transitional government in a country that has been ravaged by war for a decade.

Popular sentiment has caused uprisings in a whole slew of countries, not only for these countries in turmoil. people are starting to realize, the people can do something about their situations, they can cause change.

I'm Back!

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on in a while. I was visiting some family back in Ukraine and they didn't have a computer at their house. It was a great trip though, got to see the Black sea, and traveled all around the Crimea.

Beautiful country
